For the next ten years, I always found a way to do everything instead of crying. I studied how to make a marriage work, how others made theirs work, and where my parents went wrong.

I thought I had become better because I made sure you’d never see me cry, at least not for anyone to see.

I thought I knew what it takes to make a marriage work with some tips and hacks I found along the way.

I’m now an adult, ready to take life by its horns, Ready to change the world, do great things, and live out those dreams we had as a child where we didn’t factor in all of life’s challenges and hard knocks.

I followed the right path and tried to do everything right.

Or so I thought.

I was good, Got a degree, Started a business, Making my own money, Minding only my business, Going to church, Supporting my family,

I mean, everything should fall into place, right?

But it didn’t.

It was almost as though, the more ‘right things’ I did, the worse my life got, and the more unfulfilled, uninspired, sad, unhappy, and stuck I felt.

Nothing made sense to me anymore, nothing seemed worth it, life wasn’t worth living, nothing lights me up, nothing makes me happy, I’m just numb, alone, unhappy, stuck, and somedays, I can’t even get out of bed.  It’s even more painful when you expect so much from yourself and everyone else expects so much from you because they know and can see that you are something and can do something great with yourself.

Yet, you don’t know what that is, you don’t know where to find ‘it’ and where to start.

Somedays, I wake up on a deficit. My day hasn’t even started but it’s already sad, unhappy, uninspiring, lonely, boring, routine, stuck, and just ugly.

No job makes me happy, the thought of even getting a job creates a pit in my stomach and breaks my heart.

And yet, I went to get a job anyway, because I got a degree which should carry its weight, and I’ve got bills to pay.

That job sucked the life out of me.

I’d wake up to get ready for work, still tired, sleepy, and unhappy about it all but I have to get going so I can beat the traffic and make it to work on time so I’m not fired or get into trouble with my boss. Truth is, I can climb this corporate ladder and ‘make it’ but, something isn’t just right about that. I’m not sure this is the ‘make it’ I want.

I’m just unhappy, unfulfilled, and uninspired about everything.

In fact, I don’t want to do this.

So, during my break, I use the wifi to search for better opportunities, not another job, not a business to be my own boss, that’s not it,

I’m searching,

for something…

You know what’s worse?

I have no idea what ‘it’ really is, I know I don’t want this job. Sometimes, I feel like I know what I want but can’t put my finger on it. ‘I’d know when I find it, but this isn’t it’, I’d say to myself.

It’s not more pay, nor a corner office. I hope for a great life but not at the expense of this emptiness I feel inside.

After work, and on my way home, is when it hits me hard.

Is this it? Is this all I’m meant for? I did everything right, or I thought I did. I’ve got the degree, the skill, etc and it was supposed to be the answer, but all I’m left with is more questions.

I’ve googled, youtubed, podcasted, and read so many books and articles, and yet, I feel even more empty, left with more questions, headaches and eye aches because I’m staring at the screen too much.

I don’t want to believe that I’m here to eat, drink, work, pay taxes, and die.

‘What exactly am I here for’? I ask myself…

When I get back home after traffic, my feet hurt, my heart’s breaking, and I’m feeling empty, hungry for food in my stomach, I get something to eat, but I’m not satisfied because I have another hunger and I don’t know how to feed it.

I gently crawl into bed, defeated, holding onto my sheets and my heart, knowing that this isn’t it, I don’t want to live like this, and I don’t want to die like this either, I want something to change, I have to do something, get something, that can help me know that this isn’t all there is to life. And I need it like yesterday.

And what did I do?

I got into a relationship.

We were in love, or so I thought.

Made promises to each other and yet I felt more alone while in love, I felt more empty while in a relationship.

Then it all ended…

But Still, I wake up thinking about them. Hurt, betrayed, everything was hurting, I realized that I still loved him, and I hated that.

Why? I asked myself

Why would I still love him? Because what is wrong with me?

Instead of going about my day, I go back to bed where I spend the rest of the day (in bed) thinking of him, from moments I cherish about him to moments I hate, I go back in time to what I could have done better, asking myself what went wrong? what did I do? What could I have done better?

When that didn’t work,

I went to the only one I knew to talk to who has always been there and always will, who will never change, and who is constant:

God.

I prayed, cried, studied, cried some more, journaled, got coaches, took programs, and…

I uncovered a secret code to end all of this. To put to an end, a permanent stop to all my woes and to not repeat the same patterns.

It was hard, gruesome, deep intense work.

Everything changed because I changed,

I learned why I felt empty and uninspired from the beginning,

I learned why I started that relationship in the first place, and I learned that it was the same thing that made my parent’s marriage not work and so many other marriages and relationships in the world today to not work as well.

I got a revelation of my Identity,

a download of my purpose,

and a path to my destiny.

I found that genius isn’t left for scientists and superpowers aren’t for Marvel characters,

We are all geniuses, we all have superpowers,

The difference?

Many get a download of theirs and many don’t.

Those who get that download have a different life, as a result of how they show up in the world and the decisions they make. These types of people go ahead to be the ones who make the impact, with the influence and affluence, and that’s just the external things you get.

But the life of meaning, significance, relevance, and enrichment of the soul that you get has no price tag to it and nothing else in the world can compare.

These three things have the power to change the course of your life and destiny for good or for bad. I call them Destiny Big 3 and they are:

-who you are (Identity),

-what you do with who you are (Life Calling/Purpose),

-who you marry.

The last is dependent on the first two.

I found how to get the first two done and as a result, the last is 99% taken care of automatically because who you end up with has a lot to do with who you are.

I built a corporation out of my purpose, and this brand, ‘School of Relevance’ was borne out of this journey.

Now I’m changing the world 1 person and 1 step at a time,

I used my YUG framework to get there, which I put together after years and years of studying, training, trials, and errors, on me and others, until it was distilled to a 3 step framework that I want the world to have because it’s too good not to share.

I’ve never been happier, alive, fulfilled, energized, and inspired to live, to experience, to make wise decisions as a thought leader, ever like I am now.
