Identity, or self-concept, as it’s sometimes called, refers to the details that inform why you do what you do, your preferences, your standards, your values, and, as a result, how you are perceived.
Your Identity is a combination of your internal alignment, synchronicity, belief system, and your idea of yourself, i.e., your self-concept.
Alignment and synchronicity here is saying that your belief system and your idea of yourself – that is, the image you have of yourself, should be in harmony and agreement.

Your self-worth is your faith or belief in what you have come to know or design about yourself.
Your self-image is how others perceive your identity and self-worth.
You can project the image you want to show the world, but if they are not deeply rooted in a belief system about you, which is your identity, self-concept, and self-worth, cognitive dissonance will occur. That is where you feel like a fraud, you begin to build defense mechanisms that are not actually true, you project fake strength, and not real internal strength. This is also where imposter syndrome sometimes lives.
In the same way, there is identity theft; you can be a perpetrator of identity theft without knowing it. You can become what you are not, project a persona to get respect, admiration, or whatever you may seek, but it isn’t you, and you will know it, and sadly, many can read through you and see that you are not who you say you are.
Like it or not, how you are perceived matters. If those around you think they smell a rat whenever you are around, maybe go check it out and handle it – you just might have a serious case of B.O
So you are perceived mostly based on how you present; emotionally, mentally, physically, energetically, and spiritually. Of course, the lens with which you’re perceived is a factor, but it’s one that’s not as powerful.
For example, if you see anyone dressed in regular clothes and you are not the kind of person who generally respects all and sundry, you may speak disrespectfully to that person, you look down on them based on your
lens of disrespect.
But if that same person goes into their home and walks out to that same spot they met you with their military uniform, and they are a Marine, how will you speak to them?
There’d be some healthy fear, some respect, a change in attitude, and tonality.
What changed? Did you change? No, you’d continue to be your rude, uncouth, disrespectful self everywhere else, but even a rude person knows their limit.
The individual in question didn’t change, either; they just showed up with an identity. One they already had. If their self-concept is intact, they’d have an unshakeable posture throughout the ordeal. The uniform isn’t for them, it’s for you. If the uniform is for them, then their self-concept is based on a uniform, which is where alter egos come in, and alter egos aren’t real. It’s still a lie.

So in this case, their perception is just a minute aspect of everything. Your identity is everything. Your identity can change their perception in an instant. And in this case, we are speaking of an identity that doesn’t need to wear a uniform, one that is who you are when you wake up in the morning, go to bed at night, when you look like a million dollars, or if you look unkempt.
Identity is very important. Identity is ID – entity. You are a spirit, an entity. How do we ID you if you are like everyone else? Think, talk, walk, look, and dress like everyone else. That is why you shouldn’t try to sound like someone else, walk or dress like them, or alter your body to fit a certain image or beauty standard. You have a unique ID, a unique serial number, just like your thumbprint.
Now, how do you discover your true Identity?
I use ‘true’ Identity because you can have an Identity that is not yours or that is a lower version of you. But a true Identity is so because it is yours and high vibrational.

ID you if you are like everyone else?
Steps to Discover Your True Identity
-Figure out what you truly believe and dismantle it till you find where it came from
-Determine which of those is founded in truth and not from societal or familial expectations.
-Upgrade your Mindset and beliefs brick by brick.
-From here, you’d know your belief system. Having a belief isn’t the same as having a belief system. Your belief system is the blueprint from whence your beliefs are founded. It is the lens through which your belief system goes before you adopt it as a belief.
